Welcome to #PiP, the team behind the original Picnics in the Park , brings you the most popular and creative events that are focused on the out-doors, the 5 senses and a bucket full of creativity!! All is not quite what it seems as a White Rabbit, a Mad Hatter and a little girl called Alice host a most unusual tea party; The Mad Hatters’ Tea Party is one of the most famous scenes from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
We invite young and old to put on their maddest hat and come to the Mad Hatters’ Tea Party, most certainly one of our most popular #PiPs, help us break the Guinness World Record, of the most people dressed as characters of Alice in Wonderland, in one place.
“Off with their Heads!” can be heard across Meerendal Wine Estate as the Human Chess gets underway. Mad Hatters’ Tea Party offers a trip down the Rabbit Hole, for the whole family, with a Hat Parade, Best Dressed, Chocolate Hunt and a host of surprises!
“Have I gone mad?”
“I’m afraid so. You’re entirely Bonkers. But I will tell you a secret, All the best people are.” Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland.
This year’s event is held in loving memory of Heila Kilian (1955-2018), who won the Best Dressed award for her Queen of Hearts costume in 2017.
